Partner Teams
LGBTQ+ of FIRST Partner Teams are FIRST teams who volunteer to spread the mission of our organization. They achieve this through similar means of our Staff by representing us at FIRST competitions and events and distributing promotional material.
Partnerships FAQ
What does a Gold Tier partner actually do?
Gold Tier partners will host at least one event during competition season. This event can be at an event your team is attending, or one you are volunteering at. Examples of events include roundtable discussions, a panel, or a presentation. Gold Tier partners will also fulfill the responsibilities of Silver and Bronze tier partners.
I’m not sure that I have the resources to be a Gold Tier partner. What does a Silver Tier partner need to do?
Silver Tier partners are expected to either host one LGBTQ+ of FIRST meetup per season or self produce professionally made promotional material to be handed out at competitions. Silver Tier partners will also fulfill the responsibilities of Bronze tier partners.
That still sounds like a little much…What does a Bronze Tier partner do?
Bronze Tier partners help us promote our organization online, especially by sharing important social media posts and promoting our fundraisers. They also will assist in promoting us at competitions from their pit. The team and all its members must commit to being inclusive of the LGBTQ+ community at all times.
Is there anything else I need to know before applying?
We hold strict guidelines for yearly participation each year and hold our partners to the Partner Team Code of Conduct. One of the most important things is communication! Keep in touch with us and let us know how you're doing and if you have any questions. We also do frequent check-ins so we can do things like social media promos and let people know where we can be found.
